SCVMATORIUM

Content integrated in the SCVMATORIUM character generator.

Scvmatorium content

Concept: Supplemental character creation tables
Content:
47 additional character names, 14 "bags", 55 pieces of equipment, and 10 weapons
Writing:
It has words. (They're pretty good ones.)
Art/design:
Not elaborate; doesn’t need to be
Usability:
As-is, will require a digital random number generator (or a small throwing knife)

Scvmfurther 2: Scvmfurtherer

Concept: “Another collection of terrible traits, bad habits, and bodily features” (featured in Scvmatorium)
Content:
Even more quirks and foibles to flesh out (or in some cases de-flesh) characters
Writing:
Just look at the title—how could this be bad?
Art/design:
Conservative but includes characteristic elements like multiple typefaces and highlighting
Usability:
Yet more options for players with perennially unlucky characters

Suitor-Knight of Kergüs

Concept: “YOU know love, and her name is ANTHELIA.”
Content:
A chivalric knight in service to the Blood Countess; creative trait tables
Writing:
Captures and conveys the affect of an infatuated courtier
Art/design:
Good use of color to add emphasis and direct focus; modest by effective typographic choices
Usability:
Class features are more complex than baseline but perfectly manageable

Sun Scorched Zealot

Concept: “You reject the coming end of all; instead you shall help herald in the birth of a new dawn.”
Content:
A solar-empowered but still-bleak class
Writing:
Diction and imagery convey and support the class’s enraptured character
Art/design:
Judicious and effective typographic choices; simple but well-executed illustration
Usability:
SPF 666 recommended

Terribler, Brokener, Badder

Concept: “More optional character creation tables”
Content:
d66 tables of terribler traits, brokener bodies, and badder habits
Writing:
Each entry is quick and concise but with plenty of roleplay potential
Art/design:
Laid out and designed for easy use, but includes some fun typographic easter eggs
Usability:
A solid expansion of the core book’s options

The Catacomb Saint

Concept: “These richly-adorned skeletons watch over the holy resting places and sacred relics of the One True Faith.”
Content:
A class that guards (and wields) powerful holy relics
Writing:
Clear and characterful; contains some fun Easter eggs for the faithfvl
Art/design:
Clean text layout with a piece of colorful (but not too colorful) art
Usability:
Relatively restrictive character creation balanced by guaranteed good armor and some impressive relics

The Wretched Usurper

Concept: “When Yetsabu-Nech emerges from the underworld and the sun is snuffed of light, you will usurp your betters and sit upon a throne of void.”
Content:
Grim even by Mörk Borg standards; tables for name and conflict
Writing:
Visceral and evocative descriptions; includes additional background tables
Art/design:
Effective use of typefaces and color to direct attention
Usability:
Advances by Getting Better and as Miseries accumulate

Tormented Toymaker

Concept: “Once you were a peaceful toymaker. […] Now your toys are imbued with dark magic, and wreak havoc on the dying land.”
Content:
A crafter/artificer class that uses Powers to create magical automata
Writing:
Intriguing flavor and concise descriptions of mechanics
Art/design:
This class may or may not be a giant owl in a funny hat
Usability:
The document is aces; remembering where you left your toys may make in-play management a bit more involved than other classes

Within a Mile of Home

Concept: “Based on Flogging Molly’s Within A Mile of Home album”
Content:
A sailor class, nautical weapons, tattoos, shipbuilding and sailing rules, and a hexcrawl (hexsail?)
Writing:
Clear, concise, and descriptive with some dramatic, creepy, and somber imagery
Art/design:
Primarily typographical for easy reference with some flavorful illustrations
Usability:
Way easier than actually sailing; adventure includes PC- and GM-facing maps as well as links to content incorporated from external sources

This entry was sponsored by Bijan F. Zavareei as part of the Ex Libris RPG crowdfunding campaign.
“An incredibly entertaining hexcrawl that provides easy to use and engaging rules for nautical adventures. Absolutely fantastic content made with lots of love and care.”
