A Fire of Luscious Secrets & Ambrosian Truths

Concept: “Feed my fire, o traveler, / And one revelation shall be yours.”
Content:
Burn something (anything) in exchange for an answer to one question
Writing:
A mix of poetic flavor and prose rules
Art/design:
Limited typographical and color choices create visual coherence and interconnection amongst parts
Usability:
Simple with only one formal mechanic

Anthelia’s Black Glass

Concept: “Expanding on a snippet of lore from the Mörk Borg core rules, Anthelia's Black Glass is about examining the notion of "monster" in a world of anti-heroes.”
Content:
Those who fight monsters are doomed to become them
Writing:
Descriptive text is well written and evocative with an extremely efficient stat block
Art/design:
Illustration makes good use of the fragmented reflection conceit; the text is printed backward—you have to read it in a mirror
Usability:
Easy to use without consulting the document at the table; includes a non-mirrored version, but that defeats the concept and execution

A Table of Tables

Concept: “Mass produced monstrosities in a wide range of styles and sizes.”
Content:
Seven furniture solutions to fit an scvm’s tastes and needs
Writing:
Takes a sinister, occult tone with some clever rimshots
Art/design:
Designed for easy readability with Mörky splatter for visual effect
Usability:
No assembly required

Blood Thorns

Concept: “Inextricable wall of bloody brambles”
Content:
A vicious hazard bearing some tasty berries for the brave, foolhardy, or hungry
Writing:
Straightforward descriptions of the mechanics for entanglement and escape
Art/design:
Colors help differentiate text components and differentiate components of the illustration
Usability:
Difficulty and damage intensify as PCs struggle; requires a bit of tracking on the GM’s part

Böwhoss’ handbook: notes on internal ignition

Concept: “In this volume you will find the most noteworthy, dangerous and strange encounters of my recent voyages.”
Content:
A variety of NPCs, monsters, and other hazards as well as a new scroll, a malevolent mushroom, an optional Misery-related madness, a relatively benign tavern, and a much less benign inn
Writing:
The first-person POV and travelogue style have a folksy and often irreverent tone
Art/design:
Typefaces, engravings, and paintings reinforce the concept while other graphic elements lend some insidious and esoteric atmosphere
Usability:
Includes player-facing handouts that include lore but no mechanics or GM-specific information

Cross of Glorious Victory of Filth

Concept: “A massive, prolapsed orifice fountains forth a constant stream of viscous contaminants. Drink deeply of its wickedness!”
Content:
The inverted anus cross we’ve all hoped for and dreamed of
Writing:
Light lore with mechanics for contact, consumption, and replication
Art/design:
Split-page layout provides easy access to the text and displays the cross in all its inverted anal glory
Usability:
“‘Nay, Theophrastus, cease to poke yon inverted anus cross!’”

Cult of the Bubbling Waters

Concept: “The cult dedicates the last of their wretched lives to procuring and using the luxurious bubble baths in this abyssal hellscape.”
Content:
Tenets and random tables for those seeking to enjoy the Warm Embrace
Writing:
As with any cult, alternatingly cheery and welcoming or seethingly malicious
Art/design:
Primarily text with graphic elements to aid use
Usability:
Faster than a real bath and almost as pleasant

d66 Loathsome Corpse Mounds

Concept: “A revolting slurry of disease and decay.”
Content:
No explicit mechanics besides rolling, but plenty of scenery and potential for shenanigans
Writing: Full of grotesque, dark imagery punctuated by gallows (midden?) humor
Art/design:
Typographical choices create lots of visual variety
Usability:
Typographical and notation choices may also hinder quick reference, but they don’t substantially damage usability

Denna Toalett

Concept: “Literal shitpost”
Content: A toilet with paper on it. Not that kind. The one with the legal text.
Writing: Aggressively sarcastic.
Art/design: Practically unreadable.
Usability: For shit-takes. Specifically, Walton’s.

Dread Engines

Concept: “atmosphere effects for Mörk Borg”
Content:
12 objects, beings, and even a sound to populate adventure venues
Writing:
Nicely written and lives up to the title and tagline’s promise
Art/design:
Fairly minimal, but the text really carries the weight
Usability:
Roll a d12 or pick from the list

FÖLK-LORE: Rendezvous & Romps

36 contributors
Concept: “What happens when the lore of our world collides with the Dying World of MÖRK BORG?”
Content:
The second volume of collected FÖLK-LORE Jam entries
Writing:
Varies by author, see individual entries under the FÖLK-LORE Jam tag
Art/design:
Varies by entry; single-page entries are well balanced in spreads
Usability: Varies by entry, but it’s all Mörk Borg—how tough could it be?

Grave Matters

Concept: “New uses for dry corpses”
Content:
Undeath-themed classes, gear/weapons/scrolls, optional rules, monsters/NPCs, encounters, and an adventure site
Writing:
Loads of creative concepts presented through expressive, inspiring, and witty prose
Art/design:
Modified public domain images and original art support the theme along with layouts, typography, and colors that make this undeniably Borgy
Usability:
References amongst entries create a sense of cohesion and interconnection; an excellent resource for a game or arc themed around skeletons, zombies, and corpses

IKILLYA Katalog

Concept: “Made for the IKILLYA katalog jam”
Content:
A variety of furniture and smaller accessories with special abilities (except for that one chair that’s just a chair)
Writing:
Entries intentionally read like cloying advertisement copy
Art/design:
A range of layouts and design choices typically oriented on and around illustrations and other images
Usability:
“IKILLYA takes no responsibility for the untimely death of anyone(s) who is in possession of an IKILLYA product.” You’ve been warned.

Membrane of Sarkantha & Sarcopha-ghost

Concept: “Two devilish hazards every death-defying dungeon delver must learn to avoid.”
Content:
A living(ish) doorway trap and a melancholic spirit
Writing:
Adds dimension and depth to concepts
Art/design:
Illustrations express the monsters’ ephemerality
Usability:
It’s hard to screw up a Mörk Borg stat block
