Usability: Grab a d6. It’s only .66¢.

Black Beast of Galgenbeck

Concept: “Happy Shark Week”
Content: I’ll give you one guess...
Writing: A shrieking void of teeth and fins. With stats to match.
Art/design: A gritty, toothy mass. Armored in failed attempts on its life.
Usability: Don't go in the water.

Chapel of Pain

Concept: “In the halls of the dead where flayed men wander, the darkness snuffs out the light. It tears the flames from candle and log.”
Content: A dark temple crawl through a cult of shadows.
Writing: A gory supernatural survival horror. Makes use of light as a resource to maintain suspense.
Art/design: Traditional adventure layout. Gridded, un-gridded, and notated map. Handout images for significant adventure features.
Usability: Not actually a pain.

Cults of Galgenbeck

Concept: “It’s the end times, but that doesn’t mean you have to lie down and die! Get your head in the game.”
Content: A 2-4 player hybrid dice/card game of fanatical cult leadership and desperate political machinations.
Writing: A stylistic delivery of mechanics that encourages the kind of foul play that cult leadership entails.
Art/design: A fully distressed tri-fold pamphlet design with simple, and dramatic white text on a black background.
Usability: It will kill your printer, but it might just be worth it.

Cuore di Cane/Dog's days are over

Concept: “‘Old tales are told about the Sepulchre beyond the marshes. It's said to be haunted by the spirits of the dead,’ she murmurs... ‘Many set out to plunder the dead, and none ever return.’”
Content: A heart-crushing, marsh-trudging, corpse-raising sepulcher crawl.
Writing: A sense of sanctity embodies its dungeon descriptions, contrasting the poverty and desperation of the Galgenbeck alley rumors which frame the adventure.
Art/design: Desiccated gray-scale memento mori highlight a structured top-down map and tidy two-column layout.
Usability: Illustrated and plain maps are available separately. Adventure is presented in both English and Italian.

Factions of the Dying World

Concept: “Descriptions of places, architecture, fashion and factions of Mörk Borg.”
Content: A setting guide of the major cities and regions of the Dying World.
Writing: A political treatise on the various polities and cultures in informative prose.
Art/design: Representative figures for each faction are presented in rich charcoal.
Usability: A primer for those who would like just a little more structure in their planning.

Flagellants

Concept: “An ever growing bleeding serpent.”
Content: A masochistic mob.
Writing: Clinical depictions of mortifying marches and penitential parades to Galgenbeck. Mechanics that guarantee misery to friends and enemies alike.
Art/design: Mechanical text is splattered in sanguineous hues while claustrophobic descriptive text like the crush of expiating bodies.
Usability: Mechanics isolated for easy reference.

Galgenbeck Sacrifice

“Half of Galgenbeck's population is gone. Most have fallen to Josilfa's scythe. The city seems eerily empty, but nobody notices the citizens' absence. Galgenbeck was always half empty. All is as it should be.”

Hymnal of The Damned

Concept: “eight sorrowful songs for your adventures to recite around the campfire”
Content: A collection of hymnals in Latin and English.
Writing: Focused on the major sites and figures of the Dying Lands, in mournful detail.
Art/design: Stylized metallic book covers surround parchment with two-column text.
Usability: Available print-friendly or aged.

Knowledge is Power

Concept: “The great library of Galgenbeck is ruled by mole-like characters... It only makes sense that they would feed on bookwörms.”
Content: Worms that travel through books, figuratively.
Writing: A monster that encourages literacy. Laudable.
Art/design: I couldn’t spot the bookwörm in the backdrop.
Usability: Design that makes it easy to search for bookwörms.

Sacrifice Before Sunrise

Concept: “A plan to dethrone King Fathmu IX by replacing him with the grotesque child-god is mere days from success.”
Content: Political assassination by ritual god-child sacrifice.
Writing: A surprising amount of depth for a tiny, burned village and the chase for an infant god.
Art/design: Divine blend of color, artful illustration, and navigable sidebar column layout.
Usability: Easier to use than murdering a god-baby.

Sewer Salve

Concept: “The sewer guild has fled leaving these spaces to goblins and other chitter creatures, but they have left behind treasure and small stash of one of their key tools, Sewer Salve.”
Content: “a beard and skin care product that mixes the scents of patchouli, amber, and vetiver for a sweet earth aroma vaguely reminiscent of a urinal cake.”
Writing: I won’t spoil it, but there’s a pretty good pun on the lid.
Art/design: The most metal of yellow sewer grates.
Usability: A spreadable (edible?) urinal cake. I’ll get back to you once I get my hands on it.

Shadow of the Past

Concept: “Herein are the ruins they left, epitaphs from potsherd to pillared temple.”
Content: An archeological exploration of the Dying Lands, with 21 sites, their current inhabitants, and everything valuable not bolted down.
Writing: A survey of iconic locals, with enough historical detail, rumor, and information to plan a failed treasure hunt.
Art/design: Yellowed artifacts splatter a clean single-column layout.
Usability: Available in plaintext and “night mode” with an off-white background to ease electronic reading.

The Ballad of Sarta Rapida

Concept: “The world is dying. But then there came a voice.”
Content: Mobs of rabid fans, cutthroat sycophants, ex-lovers, and the voice of an angel, of sorts.
Writing: Yes, it’s about Taylor Swift.
Art/design: Outlined mobs, grainy photographs, alterations. Black, yellow, pink. Blackletter
Usability: Want fluff, hope you’re proficient in blackletter, work for it.

The God King

Concept: “He called himself ‘The THIRD Basilisk’.”
Content: A legend of one seriously pretentious bastard, and a possible origin story for the Dying World as we know it today.
Writing: A miserable little myth befitting a doomed and dying world.
Art/design: Some uppity reagent overshadowed by his own legend.
Usability: Introduce it to your players. Let them decide how true it is.
