Porkin’ the Void

13 contributors
Concept: “In space, no one can hear you squeal.”
Content: Rules, classes, ships, creatures, gear, settings, tables, generators, and adventures for pigs in space.
Writing: A space opera that simply squeals parody, with rules that are fattened up and ready for slaughter.
Art/design: A grease-slicked modern layout with illustrations varying from rendered near-3D comic illustrations to positively grimy porcine character portraits.
Usability: Reference tables bookend the text, with a clear table of contents to aid in reference. Clear type faces enhance legibility.

RPG Score Book

Concept: “This is a RPG Score Book!”
Content: 58 Character Sheet Spreads.
Writing: A simplification of the core character sheet, containing only sections and headings.
Art/design: Hand-drawn ink illustration with an overall spooky character.
Usability: Each character sheet tucked in a softbound spread, to be burned together at 7:7.

Sewer Salve

Concept: “The sewer guild has fled leaving these spaces to goblins and other chitter creatures, but they have left behind treasure and small stash of one of their key tools, Sewer Salve.”
Content: “a beard and skin care product that mixes the scents of patchouli, amber, and vetiver for a sweet earth aroma vaguely reminiscent of a urinal cake.”
Writing: I won’t spoil it, but there’s a pretty good pun on the lid.
Art/design: The most metal of yellow sewer grates.
Usability: A spreadable (edible?) urinal cake. I’ll get back to you once I get my hands on it.

Sin Eater

Concept: “Compatible with Mörk Borg”
Content: A creature. A candle. It eats of your sins.
Writing: Lose your omens. Then you die.
Art/design: Humorously irreverent. Deliciously branded. Clearly consumerist.
Usability: Light it up than snuff it out. It’s a candle.

Smörgasbörg

10 contributors
Concept: “Grab your bibs and bone saws you’re in for a treat….  ”
Content: A filling 120-page harvest of human meat (and how to use it).
Writing: Sefl-indulgent self-injury, masticatory mutilation, and gratuitous gluttony.
Art/design: Sharp sketches, gruesome graffiti, and a not-inconsiderable quantity of red.
Usability: Organized and occasionally explicit body horror abounds. You have been warned.

Snow on Snow

Concept: “Out in the frozen wastes of Kergüs is the graven image of a dead god… You need to appease the irate Blood-Countess Anthelia of Alliánce. This may be your chance.”
Content: A blasphemously festive hexcrawl. With occult items, frozen foes, and plenty buried beneath the snow.
Writing: An eloquent introduction this sorry excuse of a province. An unsurprising amount of snow (and death) related mechanics.
Art/design: A flavorful variety of illustrations and layouts. All admirably executed.
Usability: Stylish yet easy to read, with strong visual elements aiding in reference.

SNÜNGEON

Concept: “Their husks litter the landscape, mountainous swirling shells that are all that remain of the titan snails. Now they serve as a refuge for the stray, the weary, and the weird - and as a lure for fools such as you”
Content: A massive slimy spiral snüngeon.
Writing: Captures the humble majesty of an extinct apex predator.
Art/design: A comforting white and blue layout makes you want to slow down, grow some stalks, and savor the transformation.
Usability: Explore a snüngeon, make your own snüngeon, there are many titan snail shells left to explore.

Soul Burner

Concept:
“You are dead
but death doesn’t want you”
Content: Ill-omened ashen wasteland adventures as hands of fate. A standalone game system that’s compatible with Mörk Borg.
Writing: A cogent fictional world with compelling themes and history. A mechanical hybrid of Mörk Borg and Necronautilus.
Art/design: Deconstructed visual and textual elements fit themes of consumption and recollection.
Usability: For solo and group play. Can be played in conjunction with Mörk Borg characters.

Sudden Scum

Concept: “...accelerate the character creation process and get you on to what matters most: dying at the hands of a blood-drenched skeleton.”
Content: Character creation in a deck of cards. With simple rules and bonus quest hooks.
Writing: The clever combination of abilities and character features makes for unique and memorable scum.
Art/design: Bold color, crisp design, and grim illustrations.
Usability: Separate, shuffle, write, and enjoy.

Tales and Poetry of Sarkash

Concept: “The forests of Sarkash are nourished by the dead and feed upon the weak. The inhabitants of this land used 'folksy' tales and poems for centuries to teach each other how to survive this brutal land.”
Content: Rules to get lost by, monsters to be caught by, and places to be haunted by. With diseases, flora, fauna, artifacts, tables, fables, and poety to distract you from the darkness.
Writing: Folktales, poetry, and marginalia shed light on the dark canopy of Sarkash.
Art/design: Muted warm palette to hide from the illustrated terrors it contains inside.
Usability: A organized and legible guidebook for any who wander Sarkash.

The Secret Teaching of the Foul Wizard and the Unliving Magus

Content: A compilation of Philip Reeds sacred and unclean scrolls and Powers in a hardcover A5.
Writing: Some truly brutal Powers, for either good or ill, with forceful imagery throughout.
Art/design: Efficient textual layouts and vibrant graphic design.
Usability: Easy consistent design elements make for easy navigation, though I do wish Recared’s scrolls were also numbered.

You Repugnant Hunters

Concept: “Players acquire hunting seals which allow them to hunt monstrosities too putrid for the average hero.”
Content:
Rules for monster-of-the-week play, unique scvm advancement, and tools of evisceration.
Writing: Disgustingly evocative prose, disturbingly flexible mechanics, and visceral handouts.
Art/design: Bloody two-tone style with art and layout that’s both slick and gritty.
Usability: Separate player rules handout to facilitate spoiler free reference. Hunting seal handouts provide quick visual cue of advanced character abilities and role in a hunting party.

This entry was sponsored by DW Dagon as part of the Ex Libris RPG crowdfunding campaign.
"‘YOU REPUGNANT HUNTERS’ has rules and some sticky flavor for running a dark/metal fantasy campaign where players acquire hunting seals which allow them to hunt monstrosities too putrid for the average hero. Hunters undergo a ritual to get a Hunting Insignia which will determine their style of hunting and type of prey. Hunting down and ceremonially eviscerating unique prey will lead to appeasing a Hunting Insignia, and gaining occult powers and gross-yet-handy items."
