30 Days of MÖRK BORG Adventure Chapbook Vol.5

Concept: “Face off against interdimensional horrors, a drug-fueled cult and their terrifying god, and the unrelenting predation of the Mutant Centipede Thing!”
Content: Three new ways to die... in a hole.
Writing: A sculptor's nightmare world of rock, lead, slag, bronze, drugs, and intelligent sinusoidal waves. Grounded and moving surrealism.
Art/design: Dark, textured, and occasionally effervescent images of spectral manifestations.
Usability: Deep vertical shafts with helpful mini-maps add utility and visual suspense.

6 for .66

8 contributors
Concept: “Six new creatures for your Mörk Borg game”
Content: For only .66¢
Writing: A variety of torments ranging from the simple boiled cat to a genital prodding celestial. All with deleterious ties to the Dying Lands.
Art/design: Malformed illustrations in a variety of styles from the public domain and creative commons, and portions of an album cover.
Usability: Grab a d6. It’s only .66¢.

All Things Fragrant and Foul

Concept: “Mork Borg can be overwhelmingly nasty. Why not balance that with some beauty? And also add even more misery.
Content: New rules, eight classes, and an afterlife-spanning adventure. Also sports.
Writing: A meditation on duality. With a serious tone contained within all its dubious fragrance.
Art/design: A highly interactive and reversible design with upright and inverted text interleaved beautifully.
Usability: Designed for print. Flip the book. My condolences to page 5.

Apostles of Affliction

Concept: “Ohktanstad is shrouded by the smoke from a dozen funerary pyres. Pilgrims flock to the town eager to follow a new prophet, one who preaches freedom from VERHU and his Miseries.”
Content: A faith-ridden plague village crawl.
Writing: Fully embodied horror with grotesque diseases manifested as consuming horrors.
Art/design: A charnel house of heavily textured, ashen gray, and crumbling pages.
Usability: Best when paired with Pilgrims of the Penitent zine and card deck.

Castle Waip - The Quest for Softest Paper

Concept: “Old castle on steep cliffs above riverbank serves as hideout for lowlifes led by Sir Skidarot.”
Content: A plunge into a soiled fort to take back the toilet paper.
Writing: The kind of coarse humor you’d expect, and maybe some you don’t.
Art/design: A concise one-page dungeon with a clear map and defined layout.
Usability: Clean enough to reference in a single wipe.

Creatures of the Dying World

“21 lavishly illustrated monsters and an emphasis on folklore over combat stats”

Cross of Glorious Victory of Filth

Concept: “A massive, prolapsed orifice fountains forth a constant stream of viscous contaminants. Drink deeply of its wickedness!”
Content:
The inverted anus cross we’ve all hoped for and dreamed of
Writing:
Light lore with mechanics for contact, consumption, and replication
Art/design:
Split-page layout provides easy access to the text and displays the cross in all its inverted anal glory
Usability:
“‘Nay, Theophrastus, cease to poke yon inverted anus cross!’”

Dance Macabre

Concept: “The Rat King takes his rightful throne, and he demands you DANCE!”
Content: A rodent sensation. It’s sweeping the nation. Plague!
Writing: Clearly telegraphed rat-catching adventure, complete with moral quandary, and incarnated miasma.
Art/design: A crowded, yet clean, pamphlet adventure containing inviting iconography in distressing contrast with its content.
Usability: Spend an evening dancing the night away, painting the rats red, and setting fires.

Feculence

Concept: “Start on the backside!”
Content: A dung’eon crawl to play on the toilet.
Writing: Filthy and fun. A delightfully nutty rules texture with the occasional crunch.
Art/design: Unexpectedly clean text layout. Perfectly legible on paper. Less so on toilet paper.
Usability: Available in A5 and half-letter. Accommodations for public bathroom play are provided in extras. Your results may vary.

Flail to the Face Episode 1 Companion

Concept: “In honor of our inaugural episode of Flail to the Face”
Content: “we give you two items created within the episode: the Shit Wig and the Red Hot Crowbar.”
Writing: Tantalizingly hilarious out of context, like an inside joke you want to get in on.
Art/design: Heavy black with yellow text. Both crowbar and wig illustrations have been dutifully recolored.
Usability: I’m sure you’ll find a good reason to pull these out.

Flail to the Face Episode 7 Companion

6 contributors
Concept: “In honor of our seventh episode of Flail to the Face, we give you d20 Random Things Behind Closed Doors”
Content: D20 reasons to just close the door and pretend it never happened.
Writing: Absurd scenarios delivered with believably serious specificity.
Art/design: Text that frames some serious mahogany, with stained glass that lets in no light.
Usability: As a reward for the over-enthusiastic door checker.

Monsters!

Concept: “A collection of the MOST DISGUSTING and terribly vile MONSTERS!”
Content: Twenty of them, to be a little more specific.
Writing: Horrendously hilarious creations from tormented traditions. Malformed for the morbidly curious.
Art/design: Sharp points and serrated edges brutalize the darkly patterned forms of this miserable tome, contrasted occasionally by excruciatingly clinical white.
Usability: Richly stylized only where they know you’ll work for it. Legible everywhere it counts.

Mörk Georg

Concept: “The ‘average person plays 3 sessions of Mörk Borg a year’ factoid actually is just statistical error. The average person plays 0 sessions of Mörk Borg per year. Mörk Georg, who lives in cave & plays over 10,000 sessions each day, is an outlier and should not have been counted.”
Content: I’m tagged in this one and I don’t like it.
Writing: Deliciously meta. Punish creative scvm with their own third party content.
Art/design: Depicted in his natural habitat enjoying freshly regurgitated content.
Usability: Bring the pain with your own custom Mörk Georg mini.

Mörkédex: Bile Yellow

Concept: “You’ll have to forgive me, but I’ve forgotten, what was your name again? I’m Professor Locust, but most people call me the Mörkémon professor.”
Content: That’s right, it’s that crossover. With d66 Mörkémon, two classes, eight “dungeons” and the city of Caput Mortem.
Writing: A childhood franchise with all the puns and references you’ve come to enjoy, made lovingly miserable.
Art/design: A flexible, consistent, and intuitive design that guides the reader through the world of Mörkémon.
Usability: A second edition of Professor Locust’s Mörkédex.
